In a span of four years, Benjamin Azamati evolved from being Ghana’s best-kept secret into a global track superstar.
The 24-year-old speedstar and proud Fan Arch athlete is now considered as Ghana’s fastest man and possibly the next great superstar in college athletics.
The records he set in such a short amount of time are beyond belief, including amazing performances in the national 100m, 4x100m relay, and 200m indoor records.
In retrospect, Benjamin Azamati could only muster a mediocre time of 10.74 seconds back in 2018. Fast forward to today, he beat Ghana's 100m record of 9.97s at the Texas Relays in early 2021.
Not only that, Benjamin Azamati was also able to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics when he shaved off 0.01s off the 22-year-old record held by Leonard Myles-Mills.
After his success on the world stage, Benjamin Azamati took his talents to the West Texas A&M University Track and Field team in 2021. He won the 100-200m sprint double at the NCAA division two outdoor championship in Michigan, followed by record-setting national 100m marks in 2021 and 2022.

While Benjamin Azamati got eliminated in the 100m heats in the 2021 Olympics, the experience alone made him hungrier to become better.
The pride of Ghana took the lessons he learned on the global stage and applied them to his Diamond League debut. After placing fourth at the Bislett Games in Oslo, he bounced back big time in the Paris meeting posting a winning time of 10.25 seconds.
